In my workshops I aim to share and communicate enthusiasm for the
natural world. I believe in environmental experience for a
projects inspiration. This could range from exploring
landscape as The Wall,
river, coast, woodland, to gardens as at
Langley
Garden Station, drawing ,painting
and making sculptures on location.
Alternatively I take supplies of source material
indoors into the
workroom. |
|
| Natural
material I often use is my own locally grown willow, ideal for children and adults
to work with, flexible and pliable, enabling sculptural experience in the
classroom and in the outdoor environment. Living willow structures can be
further woven as they grow and provide a renewable resource.
On
occasion, groups of visitors have visited my rural studio at Catton,
Northumberland and experienced working with an artist. |
